Excellent review that totally echos my feeling regarding this box set release

I can add a couple of cons. Firstly, not actually being able to buy the thing, outside the US and a smaller version in Japan. Universal have really shot themselves in the foot with this release, and lost themselves a lot of sales. Do they really thing the Beach Boys’ main fans generation really feel a sense of FOMO about anything? I imagine lots of people who bought the last two boxes simply didn’t bother.

Secondly, the dreaded double-format of both vinyl and CD. While the idea is obviously to fleece more out of the fans, I know many people who simply won’t buy mixed-format sets. I really hope they’re not going to pull either of these stunts for the rumoured Pet Sounds/Smile boxed set.
