The Bookends is a two-girl group consisting of Sharon Lee and Karen Lynn.

The description in the press release of “Shimmering mod inspired girl pop, melody driven and catchy with a hint of garage,” is fair, but it only scratches the surface of Far Away but Around.

These girls are full of edgy early 1960’s grunge. If you ever imagined what it might be like if Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Blondie, the Go-Gos, The Honeys and The Bangles formed a garage band then you’ll have a sense of what this collection sounds like.
