ESQ mini Q&A #1: Brian Wilson

As mentioned in the Spring 2020 edition of Endless Summer Quarterly, ESQ will be posting exclusive mini Q&As online for you to read, comment and share. Although these mini Q&As are brief, the goal is to keep you in touch with how the guys are doing and what they have been up to.

It seemed fitting to begin with Brian on March 7, the day he released “Caroline, No” as a solo single in 1966.

RECORDING

Endless Summer Quarterly: Brian, I know the fans are excited to know that you’re recording. I’m looking forward to your oldies recordings that you’ve been set on revisiting for some time. Other than “Honey Comb,” what songs have you recorded?

Brian: I haven’t yet recorded (worked on completing) anything other than “Long Promised Road” with Blondie and Jim James (My Morning Jacket).

ESQ: What do you still enjoy the most when you sit down at the piano?

Brian: I like the sound the different keys make … noodling around.

ESQ: How much have you recorded in the last few years?

Brian: Not much.

ESQ: Can we anticipate another album from you?

Brian: Maybe next year.

ESQ: Would you consider recording another album with Mike, Al, Bruce, and David?

Brian: No.

Be sure to purchase the Spring 2020 edition of ESQ with our new interview with Brian, if you dont already have a subscription to the publication.
