  January   Brian tours Australia, presenting both "That Lucky Old Sun" and Pet Sounds. The
  scheduled sessions to record "That Lucky Old Sun" are postponed.
  February   Brian guests at a Was (Not Was) LA gig on Valentines Day.
  March   On the 19th, the long-running dispute between BRI and Alan Jardine regarding the use
  of the Beach Boys name is settled out of court, reportedly to the satisfaction of all.
  April   Mike & Bruce tour the UK from April 3rd-12th. Former band member David Marks
  guests on a series of shows that are widely judged to be outstanding. The sessions for
  "That Lucky Old Sun" are resumed.
  May   On the 8th, Brian takes part in a Rainforest Foundation benefit show at Carnegie Hall. The
  next day, following steadily increasing rumors, it's announced that Jimmy Hines (drums) &
  Bob Lizik (bass) have left the band (the exact circumstances remaining murky), to be
  replaced by former band member Mikey D'Amico and Brett Simons respectively. On
  the 16th, it is announced that "That Lucky Old Sun" will be released in September on
  Capitol as a CD/DVD.
  June   Sony/Legacy release a 2CD set comprising Dennis' classic solo album Pacific Ocean
  Blue plus bonus tracks and selections from the uncompleted follow-up, Bambu on the
  16th: at the end of the first week it charts at #16 in the UK. A week earlier, Capitol
  release The Beach Boys: U.S. Singles Collection - The Capitol Years (1962-1965),
  a 16-CD limited edition boxed set. Brian plays two shows in England: Kenwood House,
  London, on the 28th and Ipswich on the 29th. All his UK shows are a 'greatest hits'
  format.
  July   Brian concludes his English mini-tour with a show at the Royal Albert Hall on the 1st. He
  then plays a short north-eastern tour from the 8th to the 17th, comprising the same
  'greatest hits' format..
  September   That Lucky Old Sun is released, charting at #37 in the UK and #21 in the US. Brian
  debuts the work in the US at four shows in California & Nevada, 5th-10th. Accompanied
  by the LA Philharmonic, Brian then plays the Hollywood Bowl, 12th-14th inclusive (these
  are not TLOS shows). A World Of Peace Must Come, an album Brian produced for
  poet Steven Kalinich in 1969, is released by Light In The Attic.
  November   The TLOS tour continues with dates in the midwest and on the east coast. On the 1st in
  the UK, the Beach Boys Stomp Convention celebrates its 30th anniversary.
