2007
January   Brian continues his Pet Sounds farewell tour with three dates in California, 26th-28th. A
fourth show on the 29th, in Malibu, is cancelled.
February   New Music From An Old Friend features two tracks from Brian: a new version of
"God Only Knows" and a collaboration with Burt Bacharach "What Love Can Do".
March   The Lost Beach Boy, a biography of David Marks by Jon Stebbins (author of the excellent
The Real Beach Boy, a bio of Dennis) with the full co-operation of his subject, is published.
May   The Warmth Of The Sun (essentially Sounds Of Summer Volume 2) is released in the
USA and enters the Billboard chart at #40, thus giving The Beach Boys a chart career of over
45 years (1962-2007). Brian plays two shows in New Jersey, the second of which sees
Bruce Springsteen join him for the encore.
June   Beach Boys Stomp, venerable UK fanzine, celebrates its 30th anniversary. Brian plays four
shows in California before heading for Europe to tour the festival circuit, playing in Norway,
Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, France & Germany. For all the European shows
Billy Hinsche & Gary Griffin replace Darian & Scot, who have other commitments. Alan
plays the US shows, but elects not to make the trip to Europe. He continues to work on his
  solo album, Postcard From California.
July   Brian finishes his Euro-tour by playing Austria, the UK & Ireland. The soundtrack of the
Artic Tale movie features a new Wilson-Parks collaboration, "Live Let Live".
August   Brian plays three casino shows (with a stripped-down version of his band) on the 9th & 10th,
in Vancouver, and Reno on the 11th. On the 17th, Brian's daughter Wendy & Dan Knudson
double the size of their family with the arrival of twins Will & Jesse. Brian's website offers a
preview of his coming new work with a demo of "Midnight's Another Day", a collaboration
with Scott Bennett. It is widely acclaimed as his best work for years.
September   Brian plays the Royal Festival Hall in London for six nights, 10th-16th, performing a specially
commissioned work, "That Lucky Old Sun (a Narrative)", before playing a further five shows
in the provinces. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive. On the 11th, Brian is announced
as a Kennedy Center honoree, to be inducted in December. Long-serving Beach Boys
drummer Mike Kowalski is 'let go': his replacement is John Cowsill.
November   Mike & Bruce's touring Beach Boys visit Australia and New Zealand from the 2nd to the
18th. Brian and the band's scheduled return to London on the 11th to perform at a Royal
benefit show for the English National Ballet is called off when the benefit is cancelled. Chris
Farmer, MD of the touring Beach Boys, is announced as retiring from the band.
December   Brian is inducted as a Kennedy Center honoree on the 2nd (the show is aired on the 26th).
